Sweden, situated on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe, is a Nordic country. It shares borders with Norway and Finland and is linked to Denmark via a bridge-tunnel. With its capital in Stockholm, which is also its largest city, Sweden is the third-largest country in the European Union in terms of area.
Presently, Sweden embraces a constitutional monarchy alongside a parliamentary democracy, complemented by a remarkably sophisticated economy. It holds the world’s eighth-highest per capita income. Notably, it ranked fourth in The Economist’s Democracy Index and tenth in the United Nations’ Human Development Index in 2011, placing third on the inequality-adjusted HDI. Additionally, Sweden was recognized as the world’s second most competitive country by the World Economic Forum in 2010, following Switzerland.

Admission Requirement
Successful completion of a secondary school program that meets the eligibility criteria for university studies in the respective country and is equivalent in level to Swedish standards is required. Each academic institution sets its own entrance requirements for specific courses or programs. Selection procedures for eligible candidates vary among universities and colleges, with criteria such as academic grades, prior course achievements, evaluation of work samples, interview performance, specialized admission exams, and work experience taken into consideration. These criteria differ from institution to institution. Proficiency in English is essential for English-language programs, typically demonstrated through documented results from standardized tests like TOEFL or IELTS. The required score may vary as per the discretion of each university.
Admission fee & scholarships
Non-EU, EEA, or Swiss citizens are subject to tuition fees for bachelor’s and master’s programs and courses. These fees are determined by individual universities. However, scholarships are available to assist students with these costs. Swedish universities also offer scholarships directly to non-EU/EEA students. In addition to tuition fees, students are responsible for covering their living expenses during their studies, which is a prerequisite for obtaining a residence permit.
